Alright! The summer is pretty much a wrap and I’m getting back on track with blogging. First things first. Remember that possible move to the Emirates that I’ve been mentioning for months? It didn’t happened and it won’t happen…at least for now. The saga concluded around the beginning of August and now it feels like I’ve long moved on. I can barely bother to go over the details. I’ll try a quick synopsis. The recruiting agency tells my husband in late July, “Oh, you need this other document.” Against all odds, they receive the document very quickly, within a week. Recruiting agency guy emails and says, “Ok, you’re all good. The hiring company should be drafting your final contract now.” Next day, the recruiting guy writes, “Remember what I said about being all set. Well, actually, all the positions have been filled.” So there you go. As it stands, we’re still in Saudi Arabia.
The entire summer really did feel like a whirlpool of chaos and uncertainty. And though this is not where I want to be living, I am happy to be settling back into something that resembles a normal schedule. On the brighter side of summer, I’ve lost about 12 pounds and we didn’t prematurely sell any of our furniture or belongings.
